Kaylee Richards was in hiding from the Slayers searching the house, but the cat stared at her hiding place and growled, which would get her killed! Worse yet, it could endanger the humans sheltering her. Three Slayers threw Jared and his wife to the couch and threatened them with crossbows. They particularly were looking for Kaylee because of her powerful dragon fusion magic – an ancient dragon power she could not yet fully master and control – but which could defeat St George and The Hunt. She was the true threat to them. The Slayer woman, who was apparently their leader, sent one of the others upstairs to get the 8-year-old girl, but the girl was an ice dragon and threw the man down the stairs. The Slayer leader turned loose a yellow-eyed Samarian shadow dancer which would kill the child. Kaylee had seen enough and pulled up her magic to attack the creature with a lightning bolt, then kicked the leader across the room. With one left to defeat, she forgot the shadow dancer and it raked its razor teeth over her arm. With the leader distracting her, the shadow dancer with bared teeth leaped at her throat and she could not protect herself this time – but the rest of her team who had been sleeping in the van out back finally arrived to join the fight! With the help of others in her life, Kaylee must master her fusion power. There is no time left. The final stand at the Gardens of Babylon would either prove that Kaylee was worthy to wield such power against St George and his followers, or they would all die. This was a fantastic ending to this well-written series. What helps to make this book so successful is the strong, compelling characters combined with the intriguing and fast-moving story line. The character development was done very well, with the main characters clearly showing their strengths and skills, while secondary characters contribute to the story without being just “fillersâ€. There is great danger surrounding them if they are not successful in ruthlessly defeating the enemy this time. More than just their own fate is at stake now. Can they win?
Great book. I could not stop reading. Best of the series.
Love this series!
This is the action packed, finale of the four book Dragon's Fate series. The four books cover Kaylee and her friend's journey from the beginning where she learns of the existence of Dragon-kin and Kaylee's abilities as an elemental storm dragon. The Convocation was disbanded and the Hunt was loose on the world and our heroes are on the run for their lives. Kaylee had been given a gift from an ancient dragon, but she doesn't know how to use it! With a cast of wild and wonderful characters that are in life threatening circumstances while the Hunt threatens society as we know it. All seems lost. Can Kaylee learn to control her power? Will her friends -Edwin who is a Merlin, and Maddox, a protector, make it out alive.Enjoy this fast paced book of magic, dragons, Slayers and Kaylee and her friends as they try and save the world.
Man, I have to say I'm a little depressed. I know, I know. The story of my life. I really hated for this series to end, but like the saying all things must. This is just as exciting as the other installments in the series with the exception of a mind blowing ending. Man, Sean knows how to tell a story with a passion that shows on every page. He doesn't disappoint and brings his A game every time. His insight and imagination shows us the endless possibilities of magnificent proportion. His knack for bringing his characters to life as well as his scenes is just one of the many gifts he displays. I totally recommend this series to anyone who loves dragons and magic with all the action to keep you entertained for hours. Remarkable job Sean, thanks for sharing this awesome read with us.I received an ARC for this story.
Good end for the series. A few little things were left unsettled, but the big issues were dealt with and there was a good sense of closure. Not sure if it's just me, or if there was more downtime in this book than in the others. It felt like it was mostly conversation and introspection. Also, the message about accepting oneself might have been laid on a little too thick towards the end. Still, the action was well done. Also, it was great to see Kaylee's former mentor in action.Though the series feels fairly complete, I think there is room for it to continue. If it ever does, I'll stick around to see what's going on with Kaylee and her friends.I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Kaylee and her friends are running from the Hunt and the slayers who are roaming the country and killing Dragon-Kin and their friends and family. Everyone other than her friends are blaming Kaylee because they have heard that she has the ancient power of the full Dragons called the Dragon Fusion but they don't understand that she is not able to control it until she has more training. Old friends and old enemies return to help and the enemies to kill her and her friends. A very good ending to an excellent series that is supposed to be for under 18 year olds but I am a long way over that she and I really enjoyed the series. Worth the time for any age.
I REALLY enjoy series, so I find myself again slightly depressed by the end of one I have enjoyed immensely. What really makes reading this book more bittersweet is that the quality of the writing and of the story's progression continued at the same high level from the previous books in the series; which unfortunately is not typically the case. I highly recommend reading the entire series; ... as for me, I will be checking out the author's other books and hoping for another series to become as engrossed in as I did this one when I first discovered it.
