In the 90's my kids loved watching the "Goosebumps" Series by R. L. Stine. They simply could not get enough of them. The fact was, I liked the shows too. They also read and absorbed his books.Recently, I decided to purchase a couple of the authors individual titles to read for myself. The first of which is Zombie Town. The book opens with two suburbanite kids, Karen and Mike who go to the local theater to see a hot new movie called "Zombie Town". Even though the movie is supposed to be popular, they find themselves all alone in the theatre.Thinking this is quite weird, the two settle down to watch the movie although Mike is very uneasy of the situation. Karen assures him there is no such thing as zombies.Just as the movie begins it also abruptly ends. The two go to figure out what the issue is only to find themselves locked in and soon being chased by the very zombies that were on the screen. In fact, the theatre becomes inundated with them.Escaping they find the town to have also changed and zombies invading. Their pursuit of survival is based on their friendship and family. Or is it?The book ends in an unexpected twist but only one that R.L. Stine can do.------------------As before, R. L. Stine did not disappoint me in his writing. The book kept me wanting more and more. Of course it was a short read and I read it in nothing flat but I simply could not put it down until I was done. I am looking forward to the next one!4 stars.~Naila Moon

I haven't read a R.L. Stine book since last summer, when I was rereading my Goosebumps collection, but I found myself still mesmerized by his style and flipping the pages like crazy just to see what will happen at the end. If you ever read a Stine book you know there is never a happy ending and that is something that I love about his books.Zombie Town is the story of two friends who decide to watch the nes blockbuster movie "Zombie Town". But when the movie starts they realize they are the only ones in the theatre and after a few minutes into the movie things take a turn for the worse. The zombies from the big screen come to life and chase after them. The kids manage to escape from the theatre but once they are out at the town they find out that something terrible had happened while they were gone. Everyone is turning into zombies. Zombies that need human flesh to survive. Their flesh.I really enjoyed this story. It was small and fast paced and perfect for Halloween. Another thing I found great was the introduction from R.L. Stine at the beginning of the book. It was very interesting to see the idea blossoming into his mind. I need to get back in reading his books. They maake me feel like I am twelve years old, crawled up in my bed at night reading his creepy stories and it's a pretty good feeling.

I never read any Goosebumps books as a kid. I'm a big fan of Halloween and "horror" stories that aren't about gore, so when I saw this as the Daily Deal, I thought it might be fun. It was. This is an incredibly fast and easy read. I read it over lunch and was actually surprised. As much as I enjoy reading, I read very slowly, so I was amazed how quickly I finished it. I credit that to the fun, easy to read writing with an excellent voice. It didn't hurt that it's a short book either. This book spoofs zombie movies with a plot that revolves around zombie movies. There are graphic (though not excessive) descriptions of the decomposing zombies mixed with plenty of humor, so it's a story that will probably make children both cringe and laugh. I would definitely recommended this book, but not for the youngest of children. This book has one flaw: the ending. I am not giving specific details, but this last bit may still be considered a spoiler, so read at your discretion:There is an unhappy ending, which is fine. Not all stories, especially horror stories, need happy endings. Then there is a second twist ending that I found to be cliche and completely broke the integrity of an otherwise great story.

So I was in love with this story . The only thing I hate is that it is to short . I so wish it was longer. And this I not just a little kid book . I am teenager and I love this book . They should make a part 2.

(This is actually written by my 9 year old son.)I liked it, but the end was kind of like a plot twist. I didn't like what happened to Mike and Karen.

Advice g further information about exam and funny and interesting and funny and it was wondering if you know what the impression that there is a list that the young you can get dropped off a little bit more about exam my little bit I read hike to elect one of the recent past two weeks of the questions about exam and interesting to see what happens when you can get a great time and

I'm a huge fan of the books but I hate that they stopped the show goosebumps on Netflix but I hope they continue the books cuz I can't wait til. SLAPPYS BACK....... by: a 9 year old kid that CANT GET SCARED.

Entertaining story. I had always heard of R.L. Stine and was curious to read him. It was a creative story, well-told and a quick read.
