I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series. I like the fact that this attorney has fears and faults and admits to them. His past as a psychologist and now as an attorney seem to come together to give him that extra edge when dealing with clients, witnesses, and friends.
Well written story about believing in something or someone even though there are extenuating circumstances that may make it hard to believe in redemption for a former drug addict who now faces charges for large amounts of drugs. Will Bill the lawyer be able to protect his loved ones as he goes about finding the real person behind the drugs? Is there a tie in with the judge who has been murdered and who was Bill's mentor or will this just be another prosecution of an innocent man?
The book was kind of disjointed and maybe not quite as developed as it should have been, like the author was in a hurry to finish it but it was still interesting enough that you want to finish and even to get the next one in the series. I'm sincerely hoping it's better because I like Bill Harvey, the main character.
Nice addition to keep the Bill Harvey character going. The criminals are believable, and the angst of families that suffer from loved ones succumbing to drug use is well developed. The most poignant theme is the redemptive power in each of us to overcome our past errors. Look forward to the next in this series.
I was unable to finish this one. Unreadable dreck. The protagonist, lawyer Bill Harvey, is supposedly "LA's top lawyer." So the author has Harvey run around committing obstruction of justice by "masterfully" destroying evidence against his client as he investigates the crime he is defending. Utter, unmitigated rubbish. Harvey would be disbarred until the next ice age if he did this, and why would he do it? Unbelievable. I stopped reading after this part.The characters are all pretty dislikable. There is just not much here. RJB.
Good stories, but there are annoying errors.When stories have poor of no editing , it takes away from it
Loved this legal thriller! The twists and turns in the plot kept me from putting my Kindle down!! The little bit of "romance" also made for intrigue. Highly recommend this book to all lovers of legal thrillers.
Definitely a fun read. Lots of twists and turns to keep you interested. This is the second of these books and they definitely keep you interested in wanting to go on to the next!
