If you're using this book, it's probably for a class. The MS Access portion of this book is good for instruction, terrible for assignments. They'll have you do a task that isn't described in the book.The MS Excel portion is not that way, it is very straightforward.Considering how Access is very niche of a portion of MS office, I really wanted to learn it, but the book made it unnecessarily difficult.

This book looks like it was punished and then thrown into the washing machine. I mean I guess you get what you pay for since it was only like 13 bucks but I cannot say I am happy with its ccondition, I'll be embarrased to bring it to class with me

This is a beautiful natural history guide that should delight children and open their eyes to the many varied marvels that feathers accomplish for birds. Melissa Stewart has researched birds of many kinds all over the world and selected a number of them - some familiar, some not -- whose feathers may be used for different purposes: Providing warmth, protection from the sun, allowing them to float or dive in water, attracting a mate, even to dig a cave for their eggs--and, of course, to fly. For each bird she chooses a human tool with the same function to compare with the bird's. Sarah Branen's illustrations are absolutely marvelous: Each bird is shown in its full view and behavior, And the featured feather from each bird is painted in its full natural size and detail. Any child who reads this book will not fail to look at birds with a whole set of new ideas how it lives and why it lives the way it does.

Another beautifully done book. It does not help in identifying feathers as well as I'd hoped, but that was my fault for not reading the review carefully. I am not disappointed in the quality at all..

love it. so much about feathers i never knew. many more functions than i ever learned. feather help birds go up, go down, give water to young, dive deep, etc, etc. altho i'd now like a collection of specimens, there is also caution that sometimes feathers are appropriated illegally which probably endangers birds.

This book does a very nice job explaining the different structures and functions of feathers. It's beautifully illustrated and very informative, yet written for elementary students. It helps explain how adaptations help different types of birds, making a Big Picture connection for readers.

As I wrote in the title, Ken Hom's Complete Chinese Cookbook Only Uses A Few Simple Ingredients (copied and pasted, too lazy to retype it even though as I type now, I realize that this is taking longer than if I were to type it by hand without the capitalization, help stop me)So if you were to glance at a few pages of this book, you'll start to notice a lot of the recipes call for the same thing. You'll notice, "huh, this one, and I swear, 50% of the other ones I looked at need: dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, and xiaoxing wine (or dry/sherry wine)." So, with that being said, you might feel like you've been cheated, and say "Hey why does everything contain these condiments?" Well, if you're a pessimist, I just saved you some money, because that's all you actually need*. (You'll probably also need garlic, ginger, green onion/scallions, and sesame oil) On the other hand, you could see this more like a technique book, as in, this is how you would make it, rather than why does everything sound like it'll taste the same. I'd rate the book maybe a 3 or 3.5, but he responds on twitter, so that's a either a sign that he's a nice guy towards his fans, or he knows how to work customer service.

Awful. Just awful. Too many unappetizing recipes. Go back to Martin Yan.
