This is my two year old’s favorite book to read before bedtime! She even wants to wear a twist hairstyle and a bonnet to sleep like Emi which is awesome for promoting natural hair care and protective styling at an early age. Representation matters and I love how my daughter can relate and see herself and her hair in this book.
I was excited to read this book to my child but that won't happen because the pages are upside down. The words are also cut off from the end of the pages. There is also a big white blank area across the top of the page.
I like this book so much. I'm the girl with curly hair in my house, becuase I really like it. And when I read this book I was like "OMG I really feel you girl". Because it is really good for those little girl who need to know that a curly, coily, cotton candy hair it's pretty. Its just matter of taking care of the hair. And that its the lesson in this book. I really, Really, Really Like it ♥

This book is 10X better than I thought it would be. It details the process of washing textured hair in a fun and very creative way. My daughter now likes to read this book WHILE I do her hair. Also love that the mom and daughter featured in the book have different hair textures :) Such a great book for not only normalizing, but glorifying the beauty of natural black hair!
My daughter loves reading this book. She took it to school for Show and Share. It's the cutest book and I love hearing my First Grader read it! The fact that my daughter can identify with the character is an added bonus!
I saw this book recommended in a Children's Natural Hair Group and bought it right away! I love it! It goes step by step of wash day. The only thing that would make it better is if it was a board book and if little girl had 4C hair. Other than that, no complaints!
